Help me make my loader fit

Mntn man

New User
I love my 62 861. Second owner tractor in real good
working condition. Not beutiful to most but I'm in
love. Anyway it has p/s so there's a 2 groove pulley.
The shaft adapter I have will not fit in between the
pulley and front axle mount without it hitting and
rubbing all the time. Does anyone else know what
I've got if so can you help find the parts I need? The
loader was on a 63 4000. Basically same as mine
right. The loader is ford brand and everything else
bolts up but I just can't find any solution. Please
help

I can't specifically help you with your adapter question.
What I did with one of my Fords was to remove the belt driven
power steering pump and plumb the steering into the front
mounted hydraulic pump that runs the loader using an adjustable
diverter valve so I could adjust the proportions between loader and steering.
Maybe that would work for you also if you don't find another answer.

Thanks but I'd prefer to find the right parts to just
mount the pump. I know it's possible and available
just not sure what to look for.

No it's not that. It's like some different kind of pulley has been installed through the years and moved the pulleys too far forward. There's just no room in front of the pulley to add the shaft adapter with out it hitting the axle mount. I wish someone had a picture of their setup so I could see what it's supposed to look like. Thanks though

My 3400 has a single groove pulley with power steering. Is it a factory p.s. pump? Are both groves being used on the crank pulley?

Does the double pulley look like it is made from thin stamped steel or could it be a later replacement pulley made from cast iron which would be thicker?
