Just jumped on my trailer!

So I came home Saturday with a new 650 on the trailer. Wifey was not nearly as excited as me. Told her it musta jumped up there when I wasn't looking! She didn't buy that answer if course, but what's a guy to do? She proceeded to ask why I needed a 4th tractor (860 not shown). Told her I may.sell the 8n, but we'll see.

It's funny how years ago we had an naa
with a loader and backhoe, and one
without for mowing and everything else,
worked fine. Then we got a 3400 with a
loader, and a Deere loader backhoe, and
a 661 for mowing, and somehow it seems
like such a problem when one of them is
down or used on something else...like
how did we ever live with just two!

Only 4 tractor shame on you. Guess you do not have a bad enough Case of tractor fever. Shoot I have more like 30 of them and got one just a month or so ago

A 650 will run circles around the 8n. So if one must go that might
be the one. My wife is always bugging me about selling a tractor
or two. I did sell one last month but I pick up three more. It
didn't work like she planned
Good luck with your new tractor.

Indeed, Larry.

I have both 51 and 52 8Ns with Sherman combination transmissions. In 4th OD, they will walk away from any of my other Fords, even the 64 4000 S-O-S (gasp!). The 52 with 11.2X28 old style industrial tires will make 21 - 22 honest MPH, the 51 with 12.4X28 longbar/short bar AG tires, perhaps, a MPH or two more but the tires will buzz you to death. No, neither will approach 30 MPH as some here claim.

Great for getting to/from the fields so long as there are no significant hills between.

I must admit the the 8 does seem faster than the others. I just enjoy driving the lil fella around the property. I need to do brakes on it this winter since it hasn't had any since I bought it. Never done any on a tractor before, but I can't imagine they would be too bad  . That's ifns I still own it...
