Ford 7700 fuel tank question

Another question. If the lift pump doesn't fix it....I need to know if the pickup tube has a screen on it? I have heard yes and no. I will try blowing back with compressed air first.

It should have come with one from the factory. Having said that, I've found them disconnected and floating around in the tank before, most likely because someone took it off to clean it and didn't press it back on all the way.

If the screen is there, and it is plugged, blowing through the line with reverse air flow is a temporary fix at best - very temporary. Those cling-ons stuck to that screen act as a one-way check valve, and will easily wrap itself back around the screen as soon as you start sucking again.
