sway bars (601 Ford)

Anybody thought of this before? Been
fighting my sway bars for years on my
various tractors, when backing up to an
implement their always falling down,
have tied them over the years, put
bolts through them and lift arm to hold
in place while backing up, you name it
and I've probably tried it. Today I
welded some bolts to each sway bar and
can now lay them across the lift arm and
back up with out them falling off, can
drive all over property without an
implement and they will now stay put,
somebody else has thought of this before
me I'm sure....

Will try to post a photo of my solution of keeping the sway bars on my Ford 2000 3 cylinder gasser. Basically, added a clevis hitch to each sway bar and then suspend them with a chain that hangs from each fender. Keeps them up and out of the way and I haven't backed over one yet.

Farmer Dan on the N board has been using these stays for years. Basically the same thing only welded hook.

I did mine several years ago by using 1/2 of a large washer welded to the top of the lift arm 4in. in from the end. Works great!!! Jim in N.M.

All clever ideas to keep from bending those bars. This is what I did:I took 2 pieces of flat stock about 7 inches long and bent them into an "S".One leg of the S goes over the lift arm,the other leg goes under the stab. bar.

My hybrid sway bar setup.
They have lower link balls on the fender ends and I put a big flat washer on each to to hold the ball tight & square.
I usually undo and reconnect when connecting implements.
Regular lynch pin rings still lock well with them too.
