I am looking for help in trying to wire up my new gauge cluster. I recently replaced the gen with an alternator and it works very well. I am having a hard time understanding the new cluster hook up since the old cluster has many wires to it and the new one does not. I have no lights and so I do not think it would be too difficult but I just do not know. Also, I cant take the rear cowling off for some reason. I took steering wheel off and it just won't detach. Do I need to take the throttle lever off too? Thanks!

I might have a picture of the original but can't scan it to this old computer.
There should be four wires with connectors to plug into the cluster.
12v hot with the key on
ground
fuel gauge
temp gauge
There's two light sockets with a single wire to each socket
These are for the gen light and oil pressure light
The rest of the light sockets should have to wires in each socket
These are the dash lights

As for removing the shroud the throttle lever must be removed and there are two 1/4 bolts on each side under the rear of the shroud that hold it onto the rear steering column brace along with the left side, top center and two right side bolts in the front of the shroud.

So all of the wires on the old cluster not needed or used on the new cluster - just discard them or tape up the ends?
