Rake Tine Spacing

I bought a used 6' landscape rake not long ago which was missing every other tine. Have not used it yet behind my Ford 2000, 3cyl. gas tractor. I'm gonna be dragging some dead ivy out of the woods behind my house and am wondering if I need to replace the missing tines. Will the more open spacing work for or against me? Any advantage to the open spacing? I'm passing by an AgriSupply tomorrow and am gonna go ahead and buy the missing tines but didn't know if I would need to install them before dragging the ivy. Thanks for any input.

I bought a new one some years ago and with all of the tines it was pretty much like a grader blade taking everything with it. I removed every other tine so dirt would sift through but larger clots and rocks stayed in the rake to be removed.
You shouldn't have any problem pulling ivy with every other tooth out.

Ah, good to know. Maybe I'll give it a try as it is with every other tine missing. I'm not trying to move dirt around. Still gonna get the tines next week at AgriSupply to make it complete since using it as a scraper has some appeal. Thanks.
