5610 alternator wiring

BIL has 5610 we removed alternator for
rebuild and can't figure out two brown
wires. One is solid and other one has
yellow tracer.Don't want to fry it.
Which wire goes where?

Are they different size wires. Brown should be 12 or 10 gauge and is the main unfused, unswitched battery feed. (Charge output from alternator)

According to my 5610 diagram, and a chart I have for common British wiring codes, brown/yellow is likely the wire coming back from the charge indicator light. It should be a smaller wire

I called the alternator rebuilder and he said whichever wire is not hot with key switched on is regulator wire. Thanks for the reply.
