Restoring a 1956 (serial 80782) Ford 800 (850-172ci gas). Everything I've read says it should have a TSX-706 carb. It currently has TSX-765 and runs ok. Both have a 2 3/8" bolt span, so they both bolt up fine. Anyone have an 800 with something other than a 706? I'm wondering if I should replace with a 706 or what it currently has, a 765? I can't find anything that explains the differences in the 2 carbs. From what I've read, the 765 was stock on the 600's, which have a smaller engine (134ci).

I have a 960 with the 172 ci engine.
It should have a tsx 706 carb but it
has the smaller 765 off the 134 ci
engine. Just had the carb rebuilt
(for 65 bucks) tractor runs perfect.
No need to spend the money on a
different carb.
