Ford 800 5 Speed Transmission Clutch Fork Removal?

I just need a check of sanity, I want to replace the input seals while I have the engine out. The fork looks like just a large pin pinning it to the shaft, not a bolt like the diagrams on NH.

It's taken alot just to move it maybe a 1/4". The punch is almost bouncing as much as when a bearing is driven home, not to mention the mark on my face now.

It should just drive out right?

are you referring to the throw-out bearing carrier?

if you unhook the spring, the bearing and carrier will slide out of the fork and off the housing -

I have the spring unhooked, but I was trying to get the fork off as I assumed it was in the way of getting the input cover off. For example in the thread you posted, this picture you can see the "pin head":

But looking at that pic it looks like there is enough room that I don't need to remove it from the shaft to get the cover off. Guess I will get the brake shaft out and see.[/img]

the fork/shaft is not in the way of the removal of the input shafts and housing and can just rest to the side as you perform the work -

it is a little tricky what with there being both the throw-out bearing/input shaft housing...

...and the front bearing retainer...

...being held by the same studs - you'll need to separate between the flanges and not just pry between the case and the bearing retainer flange - depending, you might consider removing the steering box as that gives direct access to the assemblies -

here's hoping you are lucky and things separate easily -

Not sure what parts drawing you are looking at. Here is a link to the parts drawing for the clutch pedal and linkage, including the shaft and fork, and part number 11 is what holds the fork to the shaft, and in the description it says "Pin, Flat Hd., 5 Speed, 3/8" x 1-7/8", so I'm not sure where you are seeing that it is a nut:
