5610 power steering leak

I have a 93' model 5610 I bought used about 2 years ago. Tractor is in excellent shape for it's age and steers well, but I keep losing fluid from reservoir. Reservoir does not leak anywhere I can see. Know about seal in pump possibly leaking fluid into motor, but motor never seems to gain oil on dipstick. Previous owner looks to have replaced PS cylinder on front end so no leaks there. I recently changed pump with another to see what would happen and now I am losing fluid even faster. If you run tractor 4 hrs. raking hay, will need at least 6 ounces or so to fill reservoir full. The only oil I can find anywhere is underneath tractor on bottom of bellhousing. Oil is clean so I know is not a leaking rear main seal and trans and hydraulics always stay full. My question is this, can steering motor be leaking oil into bellhousing where it can't be seen? Has this happened to anyone else? Aggravates the heck out of me when I know something is leaking and can't find it. I guess I could put some dye in PS oil and see where it leads me too. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

YES! The steering motor can in fact leak oil into the bellhousing. Just repaired a similar issue on a 7610. There is a rubber boot between the steering motor and the transmission case, but seeing how it's over 20 years old, it likely has a crack in it, like the one I recently worked on.

It's a simple job to remove the steering motor and replace the lower seals.

My 6610 leaks somewhere new all the time, may never leak at that place again, but always leaks somewhere.

That is my newest tractor, it leaks worse than all the others combined, but rarely leaks in same place twice.

...and then you have the fuel tank perma-leak. At least silicon fixes a lot of the Ford's ailments...

Thanks guys, I kinda figured it was coming out the bottom when you can't find it anywhere else. I have 6 fords of various models and now that you mention it all have at least one small leak somewhere. But I have seen plenty of leakey green tractors too. Think it might have something to do with their ages. I kinda like my old fords even if they do leak sometimes.
