I cant figure this one out.Just got it the other day and was using it around the house when it died.Went to start it and nothing.Checked battery,no good.Got a new 6 volt battery, nothing.Hooked it up positive ground, nothing.Got my volt meter out to check starter selinoid.showed it wasnt working.couldnt find the 4 wire one,so I put a 3 wire on.Now when I turn the key to start, starter engages and doesn't stop until I remove the battery cable,so I thought it was in the key switch, nope.Put a new one on and still does the same thing.Well then I was thinking it had to be in the voltage regulator, nope.Still the same.Starter doesn't try to engage until the key is turned, then it wont stop until the battery cable is remove.Tractor isn't even trying to run either.Someone clue me in on what I am doing wrong.THanks

You have the solenoid on back wards. You have the starter side hooked to the battery side and the battery side hooked to the starter. But the 4 wire type should be easy to find this site should have them as will a New Holland tractor dealer
