Hello, I'm pretty sure that you have heard of a " barn find ". But what about an oak tree find?
My personal Dr, gave me a ford tractor. It was buried in 12 inches of dirt, leaves and branches, sitting under an oak tree. I used my 1986 Jeep Comanche 4x4 to get it unstuck.
It has a bad rod knock, but unknown of the year and model.
It has the nose of a jubilee but it's diesel engine.
Q. Where should I look for its identify marks to find out what it is?

Thank you.

Once I figure out how to post pictures, I will show it.

Look on the flat pad behind the starter, there should be model and serial numbers there, although on diesels the battery acid sometimes eats away the numbers.
Diesels didn't come out till 58 making it a -01 series
