Instrument panel light bulb question

Folks got a question about the instrument panel light for 64 Ford 2000 gas tractor that has been converted to 12 volt system w/alternator. Had to replace the wiring harness and got stumped on what to do with the T1 wire from the alternator. A number of folks recommended hooking it up to the dash light and dash light to key switch. I didn't think the light was still there until I found it behind panel and after putting new bulb in it worked.
My question is from what I've read bulb needs to be a 12 volt 5 watt bulb? Problem is have not been able to find a 12 volt/5 watt bulb to fit it? Most mini-bulbs Ive found are 14 volt and less than 5 watts? will these work or do I need a specific 12 volt bulb?

A 14 volt bulb is fine. You do know that when the tractor is running, the alternator will put out about 14.4 volts. That is what the lights will see.
That bulb will not see that voltage though as it will actually go out when the Alt starts to charge.
The bulb is supplying battery voltage to the Alternator's excitement circuit. At least that is how I understand it.
