Ford 2000/3000 lift cover

This is the lift cover on a Ford 2000... sorry about the wires that's the battery charger....What's the deal with this? Was this supposed to be a valve or something and they just bypassed it with the hydraulic hose looped back to either side? Not familiar. Hose needs to be replaced so questioning if I should just remove that piece all together or do I want to keep it, etc.

what you have is 2 plates really.

the one on the top is the oem blank cover that goes on the hyd lift cover.

sandwiched inbetween is a common 'power beyond' plate with an in and an out so you could send hyds out to a cheap OC valve, vs
the spendy bolt on ones.

you can eliminate the plate altogether if you want to.. or actually use it as intended and put a remote on.

use new oring kit if you pull the plates.

Yep, my 3000 uses that exact adaptor plate for the loader hydraulics, not the best but works well enough for me. Your tractor may have had a loader on it at one time. Best thing without a loader would be to use it for a hydraulic top link.

Ok thanks, i figured that's what the consensus would be... I'll see if I can get some fittings that will move the hose out of the way some and just leave it. Then see if I can find an OC valve that will work. Might come in handy.

Hi all....

I have just purchased a 1973 Ford 4000 gas as an upgrade to a 1966 Ford 2000 gas.

The Ford 2000 has two remotes under the seat. The Ford 4000 doesn't have any. Can I switch the lift covers to have the remotes on my new Ford 4000?

Thanks in advance.

John
