Parking Brake Parts Ford 3000

Looking for the parking brake parts for my 75 3400. May also need both brake pedals as it seems someone has bent them, cant get the pin through.

Also may need the hard hydraulic lines that run through that area. It appears someone either hit something and bent everything in that area while also taking out a hydraulic line or they replaced a hydraulic line with a rubber line and had to remove the parking brake.

Either way, I dont have any of the park brake stuff and I cant lock my pedals together.

Anyone have any tractors they are parting out?

If you are going to go through the effort
to find those parts I suggest you look for
the parking brake apparatus from a 3600.
On those they made the T handle longer and
mounted it by the flow control valve.
Means you only have to reach down to about
your knee and not all the way down to your
shoe to apply the parking brake. Much
better. See photo.
The pawl, etc under the running board is
the same.
I'm pretty sure i have a good set of
pedals from a 4000. Someone here can
probaby tell us if they are the same. I
think they are.
I'll be going up to my land in a week or
two and could bring them home. Dont know
if the pin to lock the pedals together is
there but i could check.
I would want less for them than a junkyard
would get for sure.
My email should be open.

I like the raised handle and was going to use one off of a 3930 on my 4000 but the rod comes up thru the foot board at a slightly different angle making in necessary to remove to original lock stand and notch the floor board.
I have the wider 3930 foot boards and plan to swap every thing later when I repaint the tractor, just didn't want gray foot boards on my blue tractor.

Ford 2000, 3 cyl. gas; 4/1 trans....The handle of my parking brake was gone as was the rod so I made one with longer rod so that handle was higher on the side. Used a short angle and threaded eye bolt attached to one of the bolts from transmission to rear end. The taller handle means I don't have to lean over my fat belly to get to the brake. No spring and not outstanding looking but so far it works well. A push on the brakes releases the pawl under the floorboard. [/img]

Thanks for the offer ultradog. Ill have to figure out if theyre the same pedals.

Does anyone have a good picture of the underside of the pedals? Where the springs are and such? Ive found one spring laying in the barn but when I put it on, it just falls right back off. Not sure whats suppose to keep the springs on. The brakes like to drag without the springs.

Wish people wouldnt screw with stuff.

Ford 2000; 3 cylinder gas; 4/1 trans....Will try to attach a photo of the underside of the footboard at the brakes. Shows the springs as well as the parking brake pawl.

Thanks for the picture! Mine is slightly different but its the same concept. What keeps the pedal from going all the way up and letting the springs be completely relaxed? My pedals come up too far and the springs just fall off.

I can't remember if there is a stop on the brake lever, on the link to the brakes or what. Will take a look tomorrow and try to post back a note and/or pic.

I checked under the footboards of my 2000 and didn't see any visible stops for the brake pedals. I assume the stops are either in the linkage to the shaft running parallel to the rear end or somewhere concealed in the brake mechanism that I couldn't see.

There are small springs inside the drums that take the pressure off of the shoes when you let up off of the brake pedals, but they shouldn't cause the pedals to go up beyond where the pedal springs would raise them. Sounds like your linkage is not adjusted correctly, or you might not have the correct springs, or they are stretched to where they do not compress enough when relaxed.

The spring 'may' not be the correct spring but it looks just like the other springs I see. It was found beside the tractor in the dirt, and its blue... It looks just like the springs in the pic that marcusmerritt posted. Ill slap it on and take some pics showing the situation. The spring is in the full relaxed position with room to pull up more on the pedals. It is not stretched like marcusmerritt is.

I really need to find a 3000 locally that someone is parting out. Ive been watching craigslist to not avail.

Someone also replaced the pressure line for the 3 point which I think is why they took the parking brake stuff off. They put a large hydraulic hose back in place.....

Thanks for the help and advice so far!

When I bought my 2000 3-cylinder, one of the brake springs was missing so I removed the one I had and took it to my local Ace hardware sore and found one almost exactly like I needed. Cost about $3. I painted it blue and put it on and it works fine, same amount of tension as the original spring.
