Folks I've continued to have problem with mounting a center tank mount shutoff valve without it leaking from what I assumed was the seal between the tank and valve. I replaced the stop plug with sealant and mounted a side mounted sediment bowl shut off valve to right rear of tank that screws in (vs center valve w/2 screw and O ring). Well when I went to fill the tank it leaked from what appears to be one of the mounting screw holes at center of tank? Is it possible I punctured the tank securing the center mounted valve? Is this a common problem with aftermarket tanks or has anyone had this before? Will simply putting sealant or gas thread tape around screw fix this?
