Did any of the 801 series fords have the lower dash panel that wraps around the steering column painted red when
new? I've seen some over the years with that painted red and figured people just left them on when they painted the
engine/tranny.

To the best of my knowledge that part of all the 801s and 901s were painted red from the factory. The earlier Hunred series were painted gray.

The bottom part of the dash should be gray enamel like the hood sides and fenders. The top part that holds the gauges should be red
