Ford 861 box blade recommendations please

I am looking for a box blade with teeth for my 861 now that it is running great. The local implement dealer will sell a new one 6ft wide for $675. There is a local auction this weekend with a servis lt 72 box scraper, it looks very heavy duty but is in need of some repairs. I cannot find much info on this to see what it weighs etc.
Would the servis lt 72 box scraper be too much for the old ford?

Thanks

Cant say for sure without seeing it, but normally the 861 should handle it. That is a great tractor, fairly equal to a 4000. When you learn how to use it better yet.
The other price is decent too if it is fairly sturdy. I ran a six footer with no problem.

Below is a link to one that sold. The one I am looking at does not have the wheels in the back.

The question is whether or not the three point will lift it. My 4000, essentially the same as your 861, has no problem lifting a Woods HBL84-2 rear blade, which at 565 pounds is probably about as heavy as that 72" box scraper.

I assume the box scraper you're looking at is for a Cat I three point hitch. The one in your link appears to be both Cat I and II, same as my Woods.

I like the ripper setup on that Servis; it looks like you can lower the rippers with one lever.

Get one wide enough to cover your tire tracks and as heavy as the tractor will pick up. I have a Serviss 66" with tailgate and it does great. Weighs 615 pounds according to the literature. $675 for a new 6 footer sounds like it may be a little on the lite side. I have a 6 footer that weighs about 250 pounds, it doesn't hold a candle to the Serviss.

I have used this 7' Hester 1200lb box blade behind my 861
and it pulls it fine, but I'd think a 72" would be more the 861s
speed. I would suggest full ballast in your front tires plus front
wheel weights. I'd go with the heavier duty service blade even
if it needs a little R&R

Hopefully here's a pic

the old box blade is way heavier than the new one. As long as my tractor can raise it that is what I am going to try and do.
