I bought the tractor used lift was not working I bought a lift kit for it had a guy works on tractors some put it in changed fluid he said it was clean on inside went through all of it found nothing really bad lift still didn't work if you have lower arms off top arms pic up a little soon as you put lower ones back on nothing he thinks it's pump said if you have it on you have no pressure in line you can put finger over line no pressure I have been told it's probably another problem by others that 9 out of 10 times it's not pump

"...said if you have it on you have no pressure in line you can put finger over line no pressure...". What line? Where finger?

not 100 percent sure on that he said down by transmission he said wasn't enough pressure to even push your finger off and he said the plug in bottom of pump if you take it out barely any oil comes out but a place I called today that sells pumps told me you won't have much oil come out I'm going to get tractor from guy this weekend said he has all he knows to do that he thinks I need s pump trying to figure out best route to go now

The reason I asked is that such pump makes virtually no pressure without a restriction. When unloader valve gets stuck in bypass position (a common problem) then there is only a very low pressure via the back pressure valve. Just enough to 'try' to lift the arms. Low volume pumps, so the flow when the pump plug is removed isn't exactly a gusher. Sometimes it is just a matter of pump losing prime , but that can be as a result of an air leak in suction at a gasket/O-ring or a shaft seal. Several possibilities.

Thanks very much for reply I was told today and read about possibility of having a air leak I have a repair manual coming never been into one myself thought about trying just trying to get input of what it could possibly be I have read about alot of possibilities it can

Welcome to the forum. You will find all the help you need here. Just have to be specific on what you are describing. Sometimes pics are a help.

Welcome to the Ford board.
I don't have an answer to your question but
I can tell you your posts will be a heck of
a lot more readable if you use some
punctuation.

Sorry I haven't had tractor but around a month I'm learning more about it .I knew there were different pumps I didn't know there were more than one lift cover.I was told pump I have is a c5nn600aa

c5nn600aa is an engine mounted piston pump used by the 2000 & 3000 series, and also by the S-O-S version of the 4000. There are metal lines going from the right side of the rear axle center housing forward, then up and across in front of the steering column to the pump on the left side of the rear of the engine. My guess would be that there is a leak at the center housing end of the suction line, which is the thicker of the two lines.

If the tractor was made before October 1, 1969 then the two lines are actually a single assembly with both lines permanently attached to a manifold at the center housing end and there should be three o-rings behind the manifold, so I would replace all of them.

If the tractor mas made on or after October 1, 1969, then the two lines are separate parts and you can just disconnect the suction line, but you need to replace the double nut assembly and the o-ring. I think that the o-ring comes with the double nut assembly.

Thanks for the reply just trying to find out all I can and what to look and check for.

Had a similar problem with my 68. Ended up that the large suction line had a bunch of pinholes rusted in it allowing it to suck air and refuse to prime. If you search back in the forum I posted pics of the repair.
