I have a Ford 860 that gets no power from distributor so I want to replace distributor. Confusion factor: this engine came from a haybine so I don't know how to order the distributor. Eng info is: Industrial E, Type B8PD-6006-B FSO-232, S/N 3051-R2KC. Can anyone help? Have tried multiple coils and condensers and points--still no juice to points.

Bet the insulator going in the side of the distributor is shorted out. So most likely you have a simple fix but want to spend a lot of $$ to just replace the whole thing. Disconnect the wire going into the side of the distributor and move the engine so the points are open. Turn the ignition on then touch that wire to the stud and watch for a spark. With the points open and you have a spark there the insulator is shorted out or you have the condenser wire shorted out inside the distributor. My 841 no longer has that insulator because it shorted out so I pulled the insulator off and ran the wire right to the points problem fixed. A couple weeks ago had that same problem on a 8N with side mount distributor and ran the wire to the points and ran good

As a test & at least temporary fix, remove terminal gong thru side of distributor & insert wire directly to points. If works, you can replace insulator & stud at your convenience.
Kind of like this:

In addition to what old and JMOR said, have you confirmed that you
have battery voltage to the coil when the ignition switch is on? If
not could be ignition switch, wiring, terminals, ballast resistor (if
equipped - 12V conversion), ammeter, or even a fuse if the wiring
harness has been replaced with a newer one that has a fuse.
