Ford Jubilee apparent modifications

Hello. I have taken on the assignment to fix up a Ford Jubilee for a recently widowed friend. Her husband had started working on it when
he passed. I am really not sure what all he had done, so it's going to be interesting. He was apparently working from front to back, and
throwing some paint on is as he went. I still have the Jubilee that I grew up on, so I am pretty familiar with the tractor. However, this
one has some sort of modification I have not seen before. Where the tach drive cable would normally connect to the rear of the hyrdraulic
pump, there is what looks to be some sort of transfer pump. There is what looks to be a suction line for this transfer pump coming from
the right hand side of the transmission case, and a supply line going into the left hand side of the transmission case right next to the
PTO lever. On that side there is also what appears to be a valve, which will rotate 90 degrees. At one end of that rotation the plate is
stamped "closed", and at the other end "Operate".

Have any of you ever seen this set up before, and if so, what can you tell me about it? I have a PDF showing photos, and also individual
photos if I can figure out how to post them here...

Thanks!!

JB

I've never seen one myself either, but from what I understand, it's a driveline disconnect so that the tractor can act as if it had a double clutch. There is some sort of a hydraulic clutch pack behind the transmission that sits between the trans and rear axle.

It looks to be the optional Sherman "live PTO" accessory without the handle.

Most are non-functional and parts are unavailable.

First of all, me and computers do not get along well. Dealing with Ford tractors is some what better. You are showing the outer plumbing of a live power take off accessary on a NAA Ford tractor. Inside, under the hyd lift chest is a double clutch pact installed in place of the regular drive shaft. A little hyd pump, drive from the main hyd pump provides hyd pressure for the valve, which is in the left side six bolt side cover, which contros oil flow to the clutch packs.. What are your intensions with this setup.. Me, computers and explanations don't work well together.

I have seen a couple of them over the years. I think there is a missing lever that would be used when operating the "live PTO".

They were not very robust and the seals were prone to fail and stop working. They are spring loaded so even if they don't work to disengage the rear axles the tractor can still be used.

If one would go to a web site that starts with "N", than implements and than accessories, you will find quit a bit of information on the NAA Live PTO
