Hi All: So, we bought a tractor. Seller was trying to sell it as an early 4000 but the serial number had 850 stamped above it. The tractor came with a vane type hyd pump which could lift it's arms but that's about all. I found a seller in Florida willing to sell me a rotary pump and manifold for $600 incl shipping. Time has passed as we waited for the primer and paint to dry and yesterday (Saturday) we got ready to install the pump and manifold. Pump and manifold went together without a hitch and we mounted the assembly to the tractor. Pump mount bolts were run in about 1/2 way but when we went to connect the lower manifold we noticed a problem. There is a gap of approximately 1". We tried loosening manifold/pump bolts most of the way and we could get the lower manifold bolts started. We tried tightening all bolts a bit at a time but it just wasn't happening. I know Soundguy has a trunk full of knowledge on tractors but I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before? Is there an alternate manifold that would work? Short of blowing this tractor up I have no idea of what to do! Any and all help appreciated!!
