ford 600 wheels and tire question

Will 12.4x 28 tires fit on 12 inch rims. I have 13.6x28 tires on it now and want to put on 12.4x28 tires.

12.4x28's came on 11" rims and 13.6x28 came on 12" rims, if you have 12"rims the side wall may be wider than the thread but it will fit. I've seen several tires on narrow rims, my 881 came with 13.6x28's on 12" rims but the previous owner had 14.9x28's put on and it looks good. My 6610 came with 16.9x30's and I replaced them with 18.4x30" on the same rim.
Not many people down size the rear tires because the bigger tire normally gets better traction but it's your tractor and 12.4x28 is the standard tire for a 600.

You can mount them but they are two sizes too small for 12" rims.

Ford mounted 12.4 tires on 10" rims.

Thank you, I am doing somewhat of a restore and want it to look close to original.

Have you measured the rims to see what you have?
