I found a clean 4,000 hrs tractor with a front end loader. Everything works and starts easy except have to move shift lever around to get it to start( neutral safety switch?).Is there anything else to check?
Does the injector pump have its own oil or is it supplied from engine?

The IP is fuel lubed; no oil present.
Cranking issue could be the NSS or a worn pin between the switch and shift rail. Starting to see pin wear be an issue once in a while.
Guess I'd start with a switch and Trans cover gasket.

I agree with Rick - the neutral safety switch can be very touchy on those 3-cylinder tractors. I can almost guarantee you that your problem lies below the shift cover.
