1954 Ford 800 won't start after converting to 12V

I converted my Ford 800 to a 12 volt system and I can't get it to start now. I can get it to turn over but can't get it to fire. Did I need to do anything to the distributor? I am new to old tractors and admit I know enough to be dangerous. I appreciate any help or ideas.

Check spark when turning over.. If no spark, make sure you still have power from your key to your coil.

If a 12v coil, no resistors.

Post back.

So what did you change in the ignition circuit?? All you should have done in the ignition circuit was the switch the 2 wires on the coil and nothing else other then maybe a ballast resister in the ignition side of the coil.
The charging circuit and ignition circuit are 2 different circuits so you didn't need to do much of any thing to it.
So as sound say check that you still have spark. It needs to be a good blue/white and jump a 1/4 inch gap or more at the center wire of the cap and at all 4 plug wires

Should the wire out of my ignition switch go to the negative or positive side of the coil?

If you have - ground then the - on the coil goes to the distributor and the + goes to the ignition switch
