TS100 Econoshift?

I recently purchased a '99 TS100 with an Alamo boom mower for trimming the sides of my fields. It has the 8x2 crashbox with creeper, so I guess it is a 12x3 officially. I'd like to get an owner's manual for it, but there seems to be several versions. Some make no mention of the transmission, some mention the 12x12 and 16x16, and some mention "Econoshift" which is the 8x2 based on a Google search. Econoshift doesn't seem to be a normal NA term, so I'm not sure if I should order a manual that mentions Econoshift as it might not be a true NA version of the manual (i.e. be Metric). Suggestions?

I'd just get a TS manual and call it good...... there's not much you'd need to know about that transmission specifically anyway. I think those were very low production number models... as in count them on your fingers and toes.... so there's probably no specific book for them.

Thanks for the reply Rod. I think I'll order the Econoshift manual as it about half the price of the others. IIRC, you have a TS90 - any specific issues I should look for?

Not really too much.... I guess there's always little things that crop up but overall this one has been pretty solid. It has a habit of locking in low range sometimes but that shouldn't be a problem for you with the crash box. Beyond that the only real complaint I've had is that the parking brake cables suck on this one and basically have never worked. At some point in time the tach or proof meter will die on them. Usually around 4-5k hours. I put a fuel lift pump on mine last week, a PTO switch last winter... a few scuffed wires here and there... and an aux hydraulic pump when it was new and a starter a year ago but other than that it's been good. Just change the oil and clean the air filter and keep on going.
The 304 has impressive torque in it relative to it's power.

Thanks again - good to know there are no major trouble areas. It only has 900 hours (meter works) but it hasn't been used much lately. I know the starter clunks once the engine starts, and the cowl moves when you push the clutch in, but other than that I hope a good fluid change will be all it needs.
