801 lift cylinder control valve

New to tractors...
Lift not working correctly and I noticed when using the lift control handle the control valve on the side of the cylinder is not moving in or out. I'm assuming this is not right.... how hard is it to remove? Anyone ever see this before?

uh.. this is hard to follow.

"when using the lift control handle the control valve on the side of the cylinder is not moving in or out"

Try re-phrasing that.. or provide pictures to illustrate what you are saying.

Do you have the lift cover already off, or is this with it installed and you are waiting to see something move?

Sorry, it is hard to explain... the lift cover is off, and it is upside down on my table. When I move the raise/lower control handle I can see the linkages move but it doesn't move the control valve that goes into the lift cylinder housing. The control valve appears stuck. I think this is a problem, just want to verify

isconnect the clevis connecting valve spool to linkage & try moving spool with your hand.

It may have been sitting I'm not too sure. Bought it recently. The valve doesn't move when I use the lift handle so I assumed it was indeed stuck. I haven't tried tapping it with a mallet yet but that is my next step I suppose. Hope I can break it free
