640 Lift Cover rust

Hi, All,

I have a new problem. The touch control lever on my 640 gradually became stiffer and stiffer. I pulled the lift cover and found that the control lever shaft (part 36 in the drawing)
and the drawbar control arm assembly (part 43 in the digram) have become rusted to each other.

I assume that this is the consequqnce of not using it enough and letting the high humidity and temperature swings here in central to gradually rust it up.

Ive hit it with penetrating oil, heated it to straw color, soaked it in evaporust, and repeated. No love.

Anyone else have this happen to them? Any suggestions other than more time and more oil?

thanks in advance.

Patience, I have freed them up in the past, I can't actually remember the procedure that I used likely heat and lubricant over and over until they free up. item 36 may likely be worn where it pivots. I have in the past carefully tig welded the worn portion up and turned it back down to size in the lathe, when you reassemble it use a good sticky grease for lubricate. DO NOT use neverseeze

that may be my mistake- when I reassembled a few years ago I doid not grease it as I did not want grease mixing wiht hydraulic fluid. Thank you
