Bleeding fuel lines on a 9600

He guys, sorry I have been gone a while, just been lurking for a while.

Anyway, just got the engine rebuilt for my 9600. Everything went back pretty smooth. Tried to get her started today. I know the 86-96s have
always been hard to get the fuel lines bled but we worked and worked. Cracked every thing I could find to crack and have good fuel up to the
injectors. Just can't seem to get all the air out. Still getting small bubbles out of the lines at the injectors. It isn't even trying to
start, no black smoke, just grey. Thanks in advance.

If you have "good fuel" up to the injectors, then it should start. I suspect your pump timing is 180 degrees off. Are you sure the injection pump was timed properly? Stated another way, was #1 cylinder on the correct stroke when you lined up the marks on the pump?

I thought it was. By good fuel I mean that there was plenty of it. With the lines cracked I am still getting bubbles. As long as we turned it over it seems like it is pulling air from somewhere.

Thanks for your time.

Where do you have the throttle set. I was trying to start my 4500 last night after replacing the inj pump, fuel getting to the inj but getting small bubbles, white smoke but no start with throttle set just past idle. I was about to give it a small shot of either when I remembered reading somewhere that the best way to start a diesel with air in the fuel system was with the throttle set to full open. I set the throttle wide open and cranked it again, after a couple more tries it fired up, as soon as it fired I closed the throttle back to hold the engine at 1000 rpm until it cleared up and ran smooth.
Does the 9600 have the inline Simms pump, if so did you push the fuel enrichment button in to help get it started.
Four cylinder inline Simms have the fuel enrichment button, I'm guessing the six cylinder pumps have it as well.
