Auxiliary Hydraulic control lever returns to nuetral unde...

Hello All.

I recently bought a 4000 Ford 3 cyl. diesel that has a loader on it. The loader is in very good condition and works great as long as I keep the hydraulic control lever (The lever under the seat beside the rear lift lever and not the direction control lever.) pulled to the rear keeping it engaged. If I try to pick a heavy load the lever slides to the neutral position and the bucket stops going up until I reengage it. Other than this problem the loader works great.

Would rebuilding the external hydraulic control valve prevent it from disengaging while using the loader?

Thank you for your help
Steve

No your valve is detented and designed to pop back to the center once a certain pressure is reached like when you pick up a heavy load with the loader or a cylinder reaches the end of it's travel.
Simply tie it back to keep it from popping back to center.
Some control valves are spring centered meaning whenever you let go of the handle to goes back to center and must be tied back to operate a loader valve.
