Replacing clutch on NAA, and leaky steering

The Clutch Kit listed here is 9-inch. But some people say take it apart first, it may have a 10-inch. NAA serial number indicates mfg in 1954. Should I open it up before ordering parts, or will it be 9-inch? Any advice about replacing the clutch is appreciated.

Looking at previous posts, people have suggested pulling the flywheel and replacing the Rear Oil Seal, since the tractor will be opened up. I'll order the seal with the clutch kit. Will there be a problem pulling the old seal out? Does it need a special tool? Does anyone know what part # the seal is?

Also this tractor has power steering. Was that offered '54 NAA, or is it aftermarket? Oil leaks like crazy at the steering box. While I have the tin and gas tank off, I'll take a look. What should I look for? THANKS

My parts book shows a 10" clutch showed up on the 600 model. (for what that's worth)

If the rear seal is not leaking don't fudge with it, its not a snap in seal

As for the P/S leak find were its at before you get to were you can not start it up and run the engine.

To the best of my knowledge, power steering would have had
to be added before '57. I added it to my '53.
I would clean it up good and see where the external leaks are
coming from before I took it apart. Order appropriately.
Brake cleaner works well for that as when it dries it "looks" dry
even if the area isn't completely clean. Leaks will look wet.
As to internal, hard to say until you see it for yourself.

Hard to say if the PS is 'original Ford' or
not without knowing more about it.
Does it have the usual steering cylinders on
each side or is there just one cylinder?
It would not be original to an NAA as they
didn't offer PS till later. But a complete
ps system from a 600, 800, etc is a simple
swap onto an NAA/Jube.
"Oil leaks like crazy at the steering box."
doesn't tell us much. There are 6 hyd lines
and two seals that could potentially leak so
if you could better determine where it's
leaking we could offer better advice.

You're right, I didn't tell you much, because I don't know much yet, except the steering box area is a slimy mess, and it needs more steering fluid after every few hours of use.

Because you asked, it does have the usual cylindars on each side. After the fuel tank is lifted this week I'll probably be able to see where the problem is. I only asked in advance because I thought one of you experts might know of the usual 'normal' problems. I appreciate the help.

Experts don't guess if they did and were a expert they would say its a guess..

You are the eyes and ears a expert sill needs details to make a valid recommendation.

[b:ad5f9d95be]1][/b:ad5f9d95be] Divided the NAA today. Took off flywheel as it needed to be resurfaced. While cleaning it up for the machine shop, I noticed the timing marks. OOPS. I didnt mark it when I took it off. What is the proper way to remount it so the timing marks are where they belong?

[b:ad5f9d95be]2][/b:ad5f9d95be] About the rear seal: It's a split seal, so the oil pan has to be removed. Whether or not it was leaky, who knows, but there is an 1/8 slime in the bell housing. Does that indicate a bad seal?

About the Steering box: All six of the hydraulic fittings were dry. I've attached a photo in hopes someone can identify the unit which would have come off a later model tractor. It must need a gasket or seal kit, but I dont know what to order. Any sugestion here?
Thanks
