Okay,, I was able to re pinch the friction disk in the top cable wheel and got that part functioning again. The cover on the side with a notch for the shift arm was shatter so I pulled the cover off the other side, cut a notch in it and swaped it around. but...
Found the bottom control cable on partspring and got it ordered... To get to the bottom cable.. I need to pull the top cover, and I am NOT understanding or getting the instuctions for removing the pto cable...
It says pull pto knob to out position.. loosen conduit from cover... to turn the pto knob clockwise to disengage it from lower to upper.. What is the secret here? I dont want to force it and break something.... does it unscrew? is it threaded,, or a hook just like the shift cable that must be exposed first??
Do I need to remove the pto handle or something to get the slack... The ford service manual is only 3 sentence on the subject.
