ford 600 sherman tranny

I am restoring a ford model 640 with power steering and Sherman over under transmission in it. The tractor only has 2500 hours of easy life on it. Does anyone know how long the Sherman will go before needing to be rebuilt? it works great and seems to be trouble free

If it's had good care, it should just be getting broke in.

I got that same tractor.My dad bought it new in 58.In 63 he bought a 2000 and at the same put a loader and Sherman in the 601.The tractor has been used more hours than I could guess.Tach hasn't worked since the early 70s. 2 Engine rebuilds and several tires later the Sherman has never been touched . But that's not to say you can't destroy an anvil in a sand pile. Sometimes ignorance over rides mechanical durability. Good Luck.
