Ford 3000 158 gas crankshaft - Out of Stock?

I have a 1973 Ford 3000 3 cylinder 158 ci gas engine totally apart. Everyone I have talked to says new 3.8" stroke crankshafts are at least a few months out. Used cranks seem to be significantly more expensive than new.

Does anyone have a source?

Out of curiosity, could I put a 4.2" stroke crank in it with matching rods and pistons and turn it into a 172 ci?

Thanks!

Yes it can be done, my book doesn't show a 175 gas engine, only diesels, but you can use three of the pistons for a early 5000 233 gas engine that has the same bore and stroke (4.2x4.2) as the three cylinder 175.
It may require a rebalance.

Where are you located?
I have one, maybe 2 of them here.
In the Twin Cities, MN
But shipping can be a deal killer.
And yes, if you take the 4.2 crank out of a
3000/3600 diesel and use the gas pistons
from a 3600 you will have a match. Gain a
slight bump in HP too.
My email should be open.
