Ford 4000 clutch pedal stays down after accident

I have a ford 4000 tractor and it was running fine. However, I slid down a hill on it and a big rock flipped up, bent the radius bar, and hit the clutch linkage. Ever since the clutch won't disengage and the pedal just stays all the way down. You can lift it with your hand, but when you press it back down it just falls without resitence. I have the tractor split now, but can't see any issues. Have any ideas?

A 65-75 3 cylinder.
Also, I took the cross daft out and no damage.[/quote]

If it's a 3 cylinder 4000, then what is the "radius bar" that you said got bent?

Sorry, Sean. I was completely wrong about the model of tractor. It's a 1963 Ford 4000. To be honest...I'm not that familiar with the tractor as it was given to me and my neighbor by the person I bought my house from. My neighbor uses it more than me and it's setting at his house now. He does most of the maintenance on it and is not at all tech savvy, so I'm helping out by doing most of the research.

It may be an 4000SU, what about the key or tapered bolt that held the clutch fork on the cross shaft.

The bolt was good and that's what we thought as well.
After a lengthy search for model number D1414C Ford 4000... I am 100% positive that it's a 1973 Ford 4000 SU 3 cyl diesel.

I know this is an old post but I have the same issue after running up on a hidden stump on my 4000 SU. What was your fix? Thanks.

If its the clutch rod that bent, just unbend it. When I was pushing brush I got lucky and managed to bend the rod up and the clutch would be disengaged. I bent it back and the tractor works.

Thanks Mike. I do have the rod straightened out. No change though. Mine has an external clutch return spring but it's doing nothing. Feels like something internal has come apart. Like the original post the pedal just flops to the foot rest when you press it.

(quoted from post at 06:14:28 07/02/20) did you lose the return spring for the pedal? Or is the clutch pedal linkage shaft bent?

External clutch spring is good and the shaft is straight. I'm wondering if there is an internal spring as well. My Ford manual leads me to think it's one or the other, not both. But not sure.
