Ford 6610 smoking and missing some

My Ford 6610 has about 2800 hours on it, had bad injector and poor pump service when I bought it at 2300 hours 13 years ago. I had the injector replaced and the pump rebuilt then. It is starting to smoke a lot at idle, and misses / runs rough sometimes. I have kept the pump oil changed, so hopefully it is not bad. I am assuming it has another bad injector, but am not sure.

I know DieselTech works on these; should I pull injectors and get them tested first?

With such low hours on a rebuild, I seriously doubt the pump is the problem. Pull and test the injectors first. .. way cheaper than the pump.

No offense... but it probably hasn't worked enough to blow the cobwebs out of it. 500 hours in 13 years? I'd probably take it out and work the snot out of it for a couple days and run a quart of Howes power cleaner through it or something like that.

Good idea to test the injectors, sometimes a complete cleaning and reset will take care of them. If any have one or two holes plugged that will cause more smoke trouble too. Tips are replaceable, and usually cost less than the complete injector. I'd also do a compression check while they are out too. If there's a compression problem the fuel system service won't fix that.
