[b:7e56aba1ff]I have a 1973 ford 3000 my 3 point hitch will not go down, I can blead the pressure and it will lower but rise as soon as I start the tractor. I've heard the term T valve is sticking. does this require disassembly to access? Thanks for any help![/b:7e56aba1ff]

A couple of questions:
You state that you can bleed it and it will
lower. Where did you bleed it at/from?
You also state that when you restart it
theft will rise again. What position is the
lift handle in when you do this?
For the sake of conversation, I'm going to
assume your lift handle was in the up
position.
If so, your unloading valve is sticking -
common problem.
First, if you don't have one get an I&T FO-
31 manual. Available from this site at the
link below.
You will need to remove the heavy lift cover
under your seat to get at the unloading
valve. While you are in there, replace the
seals in the lift piston and replace the
cam flower pin - just because.
The seals for the lift piston come as a kit
with a new gasket for the top cover which
you need anyway. The kit is only like $15 or
so - also available from this site.
Don't use goop or dope or pucky on the
gasket. Put it on dry.
Big plus to have a helper to remove the lift
cover as it is awkward to lift alone.
None of this is hard or complicated.
Welcome to the Ford Board.
That is an outstanding model tractor.

Thanks for the reply Ultradog, theres a 1/2" plug on the top plate that holds constant pressure regardless of how long the tractor has been sitting thats where iv been bleeding the pressure off and the second question the position of the lift arm/lever doesn't matter up or down the lift arms will raise when the tractor is started. Thanks for your help i'll order the manual and parts you suggested today.

would say that if you can't lower it with engine stopped, then the unloader valve isn't the cause. Look to control valve and its linkage.

You don't by chance have the Draft control lever in the draft position do you.....the other lever adjacent to the 3 pt lift lever in any position other than all the way down? Don't remember if having it up in draft causes your problem but it has a severe impact on the otherwise "normal" operation of the lift lever.
