I have 4000 ford needs rear wheel rim. has slots on rim ..where can I locate one or have it rebuilt. will any other rim fit the bolt pattern?

I don't know what you mean by slots. Most of us here when we repair a rim it is due to rust through, and we cut out bad metal and weld in new. Need more info. When posting about your 4000 always advise four or three cylinders. Ford made two completely different tractors and called them both 4000.

Also pictures help. Then if anything we can drool at your equipment.

Otherwise rims can be replaced / purchased new. The website here has a good supply of many parts that are available. I looked up your tractor and found this rim for $154.

I don't think Ford made a 3 cylinder 4000 in 1962!

To the OP, it sounds like you are describing a power adjust rear wheel assembly. Those rims are no longer available as new parts. You have several options, to wit:

1. find a good salvage rim.

2. repair your rim

3. cut the guides from your rim and weld to a new blank rim

4. replace the entire rear wheel assembly with a non power adjust wheel and rim.

A few months ago there were new remans on eBay from somewhere in Iowa, but they disappeared and to the best of my knowledge, never came back.

Yes Larry, but I believe that once or twice someone has had wrong information about the year of their tractor  .

I thought that the slots in the rim was the reason they needed replacing. :D
