I am thinking about flushing my cooling system on my 960 ford. Just wanted to know how you all have done it and what did you add to the water to help clean it. thanks norm

I do not recommend chemical additives to flush radiators. Such use often results in a leaking water pump seal.

I drain mine, flush with water, fill with white vinegar, let it run 15-20 minutes.
Turn it off and let it cool, drain and flush a couple of times, then 50/50 good antifreeze.
The vinegar will dissolve sediment, rust, etc. without hurting anything.

Drain the cooling system then fill with vinegar and run it till good and warm. Then drain the vinegar out when it has cooled down. Catch the vinegar so you can use it again if the flush doesn't do it well enough the first time. Then rig up a garden hose hook up to fit in the block drain and flush wit ha garden hose for say 30-60 minutes
