Did I mention I hate working on loader tractors?

I've had Ken's 4400 at my place since last fall. It's only been started a couple of times in the last 8 months.
So I go to start it cause I need to move it out of the way. Won't start. No fuel to the injectors.
Grrr.
Bleed the filter. Bleed the pump. Both are good. Still no fuel to the injectors.
So I go to pull the top of the pump off to move the metering valve.
Jeez, what a PIA to get in there around that loader. You can NOT see in there.
So I got the metering valve freed up - by braille - and got it started and moved it.
But I must not have gotten that slide bar in right cause it's leaking like heck.
Gonna have to go back in there. But not now.
I'm done whining now.
I think if I need to do some loader work I'll rent a skid loader.

Yes, I second that! I have 4000 s u and trying to give it a tuneup is a pain with the loader.Anything that needs repaired or broke, seems to be behind a brace ,braket or cylinder.............

R&R 'ed an injection pump on a 3600 with industrial loader once on the side of a hill with the loader flat down. Talk about a PIA.

I'd tell you I do not understand but today I worked on a A/C D-17 with a loader and the guy had a fuel problem which turned out to be a clogged main jet in the carb. Was not easy to work around the loader frame to mess with the carb on it

Lisle or somebody that makes cheap auto parts store tools has a screw starter that is about 2" long.

Most valuable tool on the planet for doing tune ups on 3 cylinder Fords.

I feel your pain! I hate working on them too.
Looks like Ken needs a new front tire.
At least the loader can help with that repair! ;)

Spent a week trying to replace the small/short tach cable on a 7710... to no avail...pulled off the loader and did it in 10 seconds.

Yeah,
It's a shame about that cut.
They are good 10 ply implement tires.
Have a bit of checking but otherwise great
tires.
So far it's holding though. Almost had the
tractor standing on it's nose when I moved
my deck last summer, even with quite a bit
of weight on the rear. I expected to hear a
pop but it held.

I agree...and the closest pawn shop for cheap wrenches to grind down to just the right thickness. Experience from a water pump replacement on my 4000 SU.

Especially when on the mend from broken legs, the last thing you need is stress shutting down your healing processes.

From the very first when I got this Jube, I concluded that I would never have a loader for the primary reason of next-to-non-existent accessibility. Ease of working on things was the better part of my life long love of old equipment where owner maintenance consideration was built into them.

Cheers,
T
