My 7700 Ford is stuck in gear, will shift hi and low range

Most likely a broken 2nd-R shift fork.

I was moving roll bales and went to shift in reverse but wouldn't. I never heard or felt anything like something broke, like it's just stuck. What you're talking about a hard or complicated fix?

You don't hear or feel shift forks break, they just let go.

The only way to know for sure is to pull the shift cover off and peer inside. If it is in fact a broken 2nd-R shift fork, you're looking, at a minimum, of splitting the tractor and doing a partial trans disassembly. Depending on the age, it could be a double split and an entire disassembly.

The shift fork bern is talking about is basically the
last part that comes out of the transmission and one
of the first to go in on reassembly.
