When I push my clutch in, I have trouble getting it in gear like the clutch isn't engaging. But when I do get it in gear and I am going and press the clutch, it will keep going for a second and then disengage. Do I just need to put a clutch kit in it or am I having a diffent problem, and also 5th gear won't stay in under a load. I have the 8 speed trans with the hi lo

My petal releases about 3/4 of the way up but it has always done that and it feels a little lighter

pressing the clutch and it taking a second to disengage is exactly what you are seeing when you press the clutch and having a hard time to get it in gear for a second or so... the clutch hasn't released yet.

prime causes for sticking could be a wet oily clutch, but there are other reasons as well.

jumps out of 5? does it also jump out of 1?

No it only jumps put in 5th but I don't use 5th gear anyways. So if I replace my clutch, will that fix my problem

Sounds like you have two problems, the clutch sticking and the shifter jumping out of 5th under a load. Which one are you asking if replacing the clutch might fix?

If youi are asking if replacing the clutch will fix the sticking clutch problem, then the answer is "likely yes, but only for a short while". If the clutch is sticking because of oil contamination, then the oil being in the bell housing will have its own cause, like a leaking main seal in the engine or a leaking front seal in the transmission. Replacing the clutch without repairing whatever is leaking oil into the bell housing will mean that the new clutch will likely get contaminated with oil in short order.

Sounds like you may need to adjust the clutch a bit since it should start releasing a lot lower then 3/4 of the way up

I have already adjusted the clutch, and I am out of adjustment, that is why I'm leaning towards replacing the clutch

There are actually 3 seals you want to
replace. The rear main seal on the engine an
there is a seal for each of the two input
shafts on the transmission.

I plan on replacing everything I can when I break it in half, how big of a time consumer is it to change the seals out

Changing the seals is not bad. engine rear main pops out fro right behind flywheel. Just ascertain first which motor it has because it could be one of two.
