OK need a little insite here.

Took my 5600 up to the shop the other day do to a bad injector.
they replaced the #4 injector, adjusted the valves and also the injector pump timming. and replace the fuel line from the tank to the fuel filter. Got it back friday and it would start up and sound like a kitten purring, sounded great.
Well today I use it for the first time to bring up some dirt and after running it for about 30min it losses power to the point of full throttle is like a idle. and going up a small incline will kill it out.
Can restart it and it runs at full power for about 3-4 min then repeats everything.

any clues to what I should check before I take it back.

Heres some of the things I done before I took it the first time to the shop.

New full filter, new air filters, cleaned the tank ( it was dirty) cleaned the screen on the shut off val. checked the oil for water (none).

thanks for any help

If the fuel filters are NAPA/WIX brand make sure there is no O ring in the filter top outer groove, that's the fuel inlet for the filter. I've seen several times guys will make the mistake of putting one of the extra O rings in the groove, thinking it needs to be there. What you describe I've seen lots of times in years past with the filter flow restricted. Does not apply to CAV filters as the flow is different.

I'd start by pulling the filter off and see if there's good strong flow coming into the filter housing from the tank. You said the tank had
junk. Probably the screen/valve in the bottom still does....
I'm not a fan of those Wix/NAPA fuel filters either. They're all FleetGuard here........

im thinking it may be a wix brand but dont remember if I installed the oring or not.

Ill check on that in the morning.

I was thinking about that and then pulling the cut off val to clean the screen again if it did not have a good flow

thanks

well I blew out the return line and also the line from the filter to the pump and no change. going to pull the filter and empty the tank and see if they may be dirty.

I have had the blockage be right at the fitting going into the filter housing. So blowing out both lines and replacing the filter did not help. Finally had to take steel line off at the filter housing and blow out both ways. Little bit of junk in the line will cause a big hassle.

I just bought a Napa filter to replace another Napa filter. Can someone please clarify the correct installation of the o-rings?

we she's back up and running like a champ.

removed the fuel shutoff and cleaned the tank agian which was not that dirty and screen was fine but recleaned them anyways and in case i was missing something. replaced the filter which did not look that dirty. but It had to be one of those as once i reinstalled and got it started agan it never missed a beat yesterday and i worked the dog out of it.
