Ford 3600 Agricultural a match for a Loader 730 series, 1...

Hi Folks

Anyone have a Ford 3600 Agricultural (1960s/70s) matched up to a Front Loader 730 series, 19-529?

A buddy of mine is wondering if this is a good combination or if the 19-529 is a little too big and/or not a good fit.

I have a 1976 3600 with what i believe is a 730. Loaded tires and a 55 gallon drum full of concrete for rear weight. Without the barrel you couldnt move with the bucket full of wet sand. Mine has a 6 foot bucket. Other than needing the rear weight it works great. But, with any loader on the front you will need rear weight.

Yep, same loader you are asking about. 19 529. Cant get pic to load. Try again.

With proper weight on the back of the tractor and power steering it should work fine, but it will wear the front axle bearings, bushings and spindles quicker than if there wasn't a loader on it. Grease the zerks on the front wheel spindles often and check for any slop in the front wheels and as soon as you notice any take the spindle out and replace whatever is worn. If you catch it early you'll probably only have to replace the bearings each time, but if you let it go you will be replacing the bearings and bushings, and possibly the spindles as well.

Hi and Thanks

Yours is the industrial tractor and not the agricultural? (Notice it's yellow, which is a giveaway for the industrial. Agricultural have a cast front axle (industrial is tube), 2 steering hydraulics (industrial has one), 28" rims for agricultural (whereas I think the industrial has 24" rims), plus the industrial sits lower and is a little beefer than the industrial.)
