850 hydraulic pump

Looked at an 860 for sale today. The hydraulic pump looks different and has a little lever on it. It is a shorter pump. Is this stock and if not is it a good setup?

Dang this photo posting gets the best of me.

original.....vane pump
little lever is flow control (nice feature)

test the tractor hydraulics warm and cold..after it sits too if you can.
If it works, it works.
When they fail, switching to the piston pump is easier/cheaper
than trying to find parts to rebuild a vane one.
Swap is simple, need a piston pump, manifold, and that oil line fitting in the pic might need some mods for clearance.

Thanks for the info. I thought the vane pump was gone a few years earlier due to all the troubles or maybe just hard\expensive to fix so people just switched over. Still costs about $800 to upgrade though right? I have been looking for a 660 or 860 and stumbled onto to an 860 a guy has had for 25 years. Runs and drives really good. Pretty much original and has not done much anything to it the whole time. Just put on new rear tires. Wants $3500.
