Working on my Ford 3400 with 700 series loader...front mounted pump output shaft finally gave up its splines, will most likely need a new drive shaft
too but that is easy enough to find.I called a couple of shops around town but no one can find parts for the Cessna #24500-500c pumps. Anybody out
there had any luck finding parts for these pumps? If NLS any suggestions? There is a couple of salvage yards around I'm gonna try tomorrow but would
like to have a new shaft. Thanks Dan

You say "700 series loader". All of the loader models of that time frame were numbered in the 700's. Do you know what exact model it is? It is most likely a 730.

Is that a gear pump or a piston pump? According to the New Holland parts site there was one piston pump model and 3 different gear pump models fr the 730 loader, each with different input shafts.

The input shaft for the piston pump is part number 291989 and appears to be still available, at least partspring.com claims to have 4 available, at $580.00 a piece.

The part numbers for the input shafts for the various gear pumps are 7702506, 7702509 and 7702515, but none of them appear to be available any longer.

You would probably be better off finding a whole replacement pump

Mark,

You are correct. The drawing comes up so small on my screen that I just saw the round cylinder with small long pieces exploded from it and I assumed they were pistons. I zoomed in and low and behold they were vanes. Thanks for the correction.

Sean...talked to a guy today that knew all about these Cessna pumps, he told me exactly which pump I had, how it worked and that it's a gear pump then he told me it was "obsolete" and there was no way I was going to find a replacement shaft. A new pump costing 7 or 8 hundred is not in the budget right now so it's time to get creative...never know, I might get lucky and find something that works for awhile. Dan

Any idea what the gpm is on that pump, I've removed the loader from my 4500 and will be installing a lighter farm loader for moving round bales. The pump being 25 gpm is to big and I'm looking to replace it with a pump in the 10-15 gpm range there forth I wont be needing this one and would make someone a descent deal on it.
