On a model 740 what does the -5 after 740 stand for?

I think... I remember reading this.
All 740s came from the factory with 4 speeds.
There was no such thing as a 750 or 760.
But Some State or municipality needed some with 5 speeds for one reason or another and Ford obliged them.
And they stamped them as yours is.

The -5 would indicate a factory supplied wide front end.

They carried the 4 speed model number even though they had 5 speed transmissions.
