I have found that they are referenced by thread size (diameter and threads per inch) and length to the center of the pin. I have used the parts section of this website (Tractor Parts under Marketplace in the LH column) and found the ones I needed for my Massey 65. I too need one for my 4000 but haven't gotten around to that project yet.

Hope this helps.

wes verbal- DANG! Are you Double-jointed? I could never make my thumb contort into that position!

Sorry if I made you uncomfortable about the pic...I just find it amazing. I hope you understand.

Thanks

I don't know where you'd find one.
But in case you can't, you could find a tie rod end that has the same threads.
Then have an adapter made that is tapered on the inside and round with that groove on the outside.
I think most anyone with a lathe could make one pretty easily.

very tough to find.
I looked for that part for my NF 960...when converting from power steering to manual steering, and fabbing up a manual draglink...no luck.
(I didn't want to steal the end off the PS, as I might want the complete setup for another tractor someday)
Be careful with some vendors, they will tell you they have one...but it's not the right one.
Yours looks just like mine...no taper, held in place by a cross bolt that fits in the groove.
A standard tie rod end won't work, the standard end and nut will hit the tin.

Good luck with your search. If you ever want to sell the one in your hand, let me know. I don't care it it is worn.
Be better than the bolt I'm using now :)

My dad has a 4000 RC. SOMEone welded the tie rod end to the tube. It is just slightly too short. We have been watching for ten years for a tube and new end with no luck.
