I have a 860 ford tractor with 2 stage clutch. worked perfect until neighbor borrowed it. now the pto grinds, and will not go into gear unless I shut the tractor off. it will not disengage when pushing in the clutch. the clutch for the transmission works just fine. is it possible to loose just the pto portion of a 2 stage clutch? I have no idea what the tractor was used for when neighbor borrowed it. thanks for your help

This is the second post recently where someone loaned their tractor out and got it back damaged.
It would help a lot to know what he used it for.
Pulling a box blade to fix his driveway is a whole lot different than hooking it to a brush mower.
Find out and post back.

seems the neighbor rented a post hole digger, with a 18" auger to drill holes for a pole building. I think he smoked the pto part of the clutch. I'm going to try to adjust it. maybe I can save it.
