Jubilee just won't fire....

Rebuilt the carb, and the distributor, and the starter. New coil, rotor, cap and plugs. Flushed the old gas. Got a strong spark, but plugs
are dry when I pull one after trying to start it. Feels like gas isn't getting pulled into the cylinders.......Your thoughts?

Good fuel flow through the carb when you pull the drain plug?
It should flow steadily and fill a pint jar in a couple minutes.

If it has good fuel flow remove the air cleaner hose and use
the palm of your hand over the carb throat to choke it.
It should suck your hand to it and you may get some gas on
your hand. Does it start that way?

I know. I know. I'm a bad person. In spite of how wrong I've been told that I am on this forum, if I were you, I'd give it a snort of ether and try to start it. If it runs for a few seconds, you know that the ignition is probably okay. If it doesn't even start for a few seconds, it's probably an ignition problem.

I know. I know. That's a bad idea, but I'd still do it.

Ether, in small doses, isn't the devil on a gas engine that it is on a diesel with glow plugs.
However I've seen engines that will not fire on ether fire when you choke them with your palm.
Especially ones with updraft carbs like these old Fords.
